‘Start Strong’-Funding reform update

Department Of Education released a new funding reform package for NSW preschools called 'Start Strong' that enables our Preschool to offer reduced fees for children who are 4 years of age and children where parents hold a Health Care card or children who are from an indigenous background and attend a 5 day fortnight enrolment pattern. 

        Rebated Fees for 2018

The new funding package will fund the following children;

·          4yr old children turning 4 before 31^st July of that year who attend a 5 day fortnight enrolment pattern $30 per day.

·         3yr & 4yr old children where parents hold a Health Care card or children are from an indigenous background, who attend a 5 day fortnight enrolment pattern $25 per day.

·         3 yr old children $48 per day – these children are not funded by Department Of Education.

Please note: Fees are charged only for school terms and not during school holidays or public holidays.

        Hours for 2018

For 2018 we will be opened from 8:45am – 3:20pm each day Monday to Friday. Children can be dropped off and picked up at anytime during this period that suits your family. For an additional fee children can be dropped off to commence their day at 8am. Prior booking is required, contact the office for details.

        Pick up time & Late fees

It is imperative that all children are picked up by 3:20pm so that the staff can complete crucial non-teaching tasks. If children are picked up later than 3:20pm a hefty late fee will be applied and charged at $20 from 3:20 to 3:30pm, then $5 for every five minutes from 3:30pm onward. We appreciate your support.

About our Preschool

Springwood and District Kindergarten is a community owned Preschool for children aged 3-6 years, and is able to accommodate 54 children per day. The preschool first opened its doors in 1975, and in 2011 went through a total indoor refurbishment to update. Over our 40 years we have seen families come then successfully transition onto big school, we realise that an essential part of the preschool’s successful formula derives from wonderful families who have faith in the teaching team. The teams of teachers are experienced, with the average having been employed here at the preschool for at least 14 years. Our team is highly motivated and passionate about teaching with many of them constantly returning to formal education themselves to upgrade qualifications to ensure current educational methodologies are maintained and reflected into practice within the preschool. The underpinning belief is to ensure that every child has a great preschool experience, with access to quality programs. It is our belief that a great preschool experience has the ability to be one of the most important influences on the children’s wellbeing, which benefits them through their whole school life. Online enrolments are welcomed and can occur directly through our website by following the links provided in the Parent Info & Forms Section. Our preschool operates during school terms, Monday to Friday 8:45am until 3:20pm and is closed on public holidays (parents do not pay for any preschool closure days). Fees are paid fortnightly in advance and the fee schedule can be viewed on the 'Vacancies & Fees' page of this website. (Economic subsides are available for qualifying low income families).
